AKC Cream Mini Dachshund~ Spay Female in Seattle, Washington For Sale

We have been raising and rescuing Dachshunds for over 30 years and have a little girl who is now ready to be placed in her forever home. Qualified buyer will be required to sign a re-homing agreement, wherein buyer will agree that Dusti will never be sold or re-homed without our written permission. If for any reason buyer cannot keep her and cannot provide evidence of a suitable home, at whatever age, buyer will contact us to arrange for her return to us.
Dusti is a 2 1/2 year old spay female, weighing 11 pounds 4 ounces. She is current on all shots, including rabies. She is fully house trained and does not need to be kenneled.
Dusti loves other dogs, but may bark at them when she first meets them. She was raised with a Doberman and another Dachshund, and is currently residing with 4 other Dachshunds. We do not know how she would react to a cat, as we are allergic and her former owner did not have a cat.
Dusti will alert when someone knocks on the door or enters her yard. She loves to go for very long walks, and after she heals from her spaying, will be able to do so again.
Issues we have noticed since Dusti arrived..... her former owner allowed her to sit in their lap while driving - we have been training her to sit beside us. Her former owner allowed her to pull on the lead ... we put a harness on her so that she didn't do harm to her throat and kept the lead tight until she stopped pulling. If Dusti is nervous OR gets too many treats, she will not eat her scheduled meal..... example.... we give our dogs vitamins and glucosamine daily... if given too close to meal time, she walks away from her food. Dusti is one of those dogs that you could place her 1/4 cup morning portion into a bowl and walk away, allowing her to eat when she is hungry. You could also put her 1/4 cup food in her dish that evening and walk away. She is NOT food aggressive and probably won't overeat, but now that she is spay, that could change.
Dusti will want to sleep with you, so if that isn't okay, I suggest you find another dog. She loves to sit in your lap and be cuddled... she will also curl up in a ball an lay in your lap or next to you. Dusti is exceptionally gentle, tender and loving. She has been exposed to younger children while living with her former owner, but not while with us. Therefore, I do not know how she responds to children. Given the length of their backs, it has always been my practice not to place my rescues where there are children under the age of 8.
Dusti love to play tug with humans and other dogs alike. She like to chase a ball and will chew on your hand in play. I have noted she can get a little rough when play biting and if I say "ouch", she immediately stops.
